Marine Life Sanctuaries Society

Our mandate is to create marine sanctuaries and protect marine life. Many areas of the British Columbia marine environment are threatened by pollution, over-harvesting, and habitat degradation, resulting in imbalanced ecosystems. Without help and protection, our marine environment has little or no chance for recovery.

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our Whytecliff event and participated in our online silent auction!

As this was our first time running a fundraiser such as this, we weren’t sure what to expect but we are not only thrilled but also blown away by the incredible support we’ve received. Local businesses and artists generously contributed artwork, tickets, experiences, and more. We also surpassed our fundraising goal by 63%, raising $3260 for marine conservation!!!

Missed the auction? Don’t worry you can still browse the amazing items here, and support each every donor. Having this auction online was important to us it gave us a better chance to celebrate our amazing community. As a grassroots organization, community involvement and citizen science has always been at the heart of MLSS and  we strongly believe that conservation is best achieved through collaboration. This auction is a perfect example of that spirit of partnership, and we hope that everyone who participated used the auction as a chance to not just celebrate MLSS but also the organizations and individuals who donated their time, art, and money in support of marine conservation. We truly cannot thank them enough.

We have been blown away by the support of our community and want to gratefully acknowledge all our silent auction donors and the support of the District of West Vancouver. It is only through their Community Grants Program that we were able to host this auction and Whytecliff event. ‘Sea’ you all next year!
