Interpretive Guide

MLSS BC started our Beach Interpretation Program (BIP) as a way to engage the community and provide education on local marine life and the conservation issues they face. These events are a perfect fit for those who want to make change on the ground level, someone who loves communicating, is excited about the ocean, and is not afraid to get a little wet!

As a BIP interpretive guide you will be providing education about wild marine life collected directly from the BIP site by divers (under permit), allowing an unprecedented opportunity to engage and educate others.

What kind of things will you be asked to talk about? Interesting natural history information or conservation concerns about the collected species, to be sure. But that’s the beauty of the BIP program – you never know exactly what cool species the divers’ might find at the different locations. Everyone gets to learn something new!

If this sounds like you sign our volunteer intake form here or contact us here! Interested in volunteering to be a diver at these events instead? Find out more information here.
